The central government Tuesday also sanctioned 6,478 additional policemen for the capital in the wake of terror threat perceptions.

'I am glad to inform you that taking note of the growing needs of the metropolitan city of Delhi, the central government has sanctioned additional manpower of 6,478 policemen at a cost of Rs.199 crore (Rs.1.99 billion) per annum. Further, 29 new police stations have also been sanctioned,' Home Minister P.
