New Delhi, Sep 2 - Delhi Police have arrested a 54-year-old man who allegedly stole goods from five-star hotels in the capital after he lost his job during the economic recession, officials said Wednesday.
Rajiv Goel was arrested Tuesday on the complaint of Ajay whose laptop the accused had allegedly stolen.
'On Sep 1, Goel using a fake delegate card managed to enter a workshop-cum-exhibition organised at Shangri-La Hotel in New Delhi. At around 2 p.m. when guests went for lunch, they left their laptops and related goods on their respective tables in the conference hall,' said a senior police officer.
'Goel while pretending to be sipping soup entered back into the conference hall and lifted a laptop which belonged to Ajay and went out. When Ajay returned to his table, he found his laptop missing.
