This has resulted in power cuts in certain areas,' Dikshit told reporters after the meeting.

Many parts of the capital are witnessing massive power cuts ranging from four to eight hours. The power demand in the capital has risen to 4,000 MW against the average 3,500 MW.

'Despite the best efforts of the Delhi government and the power sector companies in Delhi, the difficulties are likely to continue for a few more days and the rotational load shedding of maximum two hours each is also likely to continue for a few days in such a situation. The people are requested to kindly bear with this unprecedented situation,' said Dikshit.
