Federer, who consulted doctors along with wife Mirka Vavrinec as to the suitability of taking the twins over the Atlantic in a private jet at such a young age, was happy to get the medical all-clear for mothers and daughters.
'I'm excited to see how I'm going to handle the new family situation,' said the number one who claimed French Open and Wimbledon crowns over the summer. 'Going forward to the US Open will be an exciting stretch.'
He said that family responsibilities will likely lift a weight from his shoulders.
'The family can help by taking pressure off my tennis game. I've been under pressure for many many years. This could help a lot mentally.'
He said that he got a laugh at speculation the day after the July 23rd birth of Charlene Riva and Myla Rose that they were already being tipped to one day win Wimbledon.
'I wouldn't mind if they wanted to play tennis, but we wouldn't push them. It's not our goal to make them tennis machines.
'It's about them being happy and us giving them as much love as we can. Then we see where it takes us.'
