This led to over 50 people chasing and manhandling two constables who were present outside the hospital on duty.
'We tried to convince them that a murder case will be registered yet they attacked us,' Chandra Prakash, one of the attacked constables, told IANS.
Meanwhile, police have assured action in the case.
'We have lodged a case of murder against unknown people. We are also trying to identify who attacked the constables. Attacking a government official on duty is an offence and no one will be spared,' Superintendent of Police Uday Pratap told IANS.
