He got admission in the Deshbandhu College of Delhi University.

He studied in the college till 1999 and was later deported to his country by the FRRO, but he returned after a month with fresh Visa on a passport issued from Palestine and started living with his brother in Vasant Kunj, south Delhi.

He was again deported by the FRRO about eight months after his arrival in India. This time he went to Jordan instead of his country and obtained a visa of Nepal from there and entered India. In 2001 he went to Lucknow and started living with his friends Sameer and Adnan.

He was arrested by the Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force after Hamas-related documents were found from him. He spent 15 months in jail and the case against him is still pending.

After release on bail, he came to Delhi and started living in Munirka. He married Nainglim Ching, who is from Manipur, in 2005 and shifted to a rented house Kishangarh.
