Evidence enough to try Mumbai attackers, India tells Pakistan

'The last dossier from India was a rehash of information received in previous dossiers,' Pakistan's Foreign Office spokesman Abdul Basit said in Islamabad. The spokesman, however, did not say how Pakistan intended to deal with Saeed, for whom Interpol recently issued a Red Corner Notice.

The trial of suspects arrested by Pakistani authorities in connection with the Mumbai attacks is proceeding and Islamabad is 'serious about bringing the perpetrators to book', Basit said.

Unhappy with Pakistan's lack of action against the Mumbai attackers after the Sharm el-Sheikh summit between the prime ministers of the two countries July 16, India has decided to put on hold a meeting between the foreign secretaries who were expected to meet this month.

Foreign Secretary Nirupama Rao is unlikely to go to Islamabad for talks with her Pakistani counterpart Salman Bashir before the foreign ministers of the two countries meet in New York later this month, the sources said.
