Evidence enough to try Mumbai attackers, India tells Pakistan

New Delhi, Sep 4 - Weary of Pakistan's repeated demands for more information even after receiving six dossiers on the Mumbai terrorist attackers, India Friday made it clear that it was now time for action and for Islamabad to decide what kind of relationship it wants with New Delhi.

Official sources Friday pointed out that India was looking for 'speedy, transparent and meaningful action' against perpetrators of the Mumbai carnage and stressed that evidence provided so far was enough to prosecute Hafiz Saeed and other Pakistani militants involved in the 26/11 terrorist attack.

They pointed out that India has regularly given information and evidence about the role of Pakistani militants in the Mumbai attacks, and will share more as and when more evidence surfaces.

Islamabad has acknowledged that the planning, plotting and conspiracy were hatched in Pakistan and it is up to them to act, the sources said. 'They have all the information at their command. India is only assisting this process,' a source said.

Substanative information has been given to Pakistan about the role of Saeed, the alleged mastermind of Mumbai terror spree, the sources said.

Pakistan's Interior Minister Rehman Malik Thursday said the sixth dossier India provided about a fortnight ago on the Mumbai attackers was a 'rehash of information' contained in previous documents, indicating that it was inadequate for taking action against Saeed.
