Islamabad, Aug 31 - Supplies of fuel and other logistics to Afghanistan-based NATO forces from Pakistan resumed Monday, hours after 25 tankers were gutted in a blaze in Pakistan's Chaman town in southwestern Balochistan province.
Two-way traffic had been suspended for the past two days because of a row over
searching of trucks coming from Afghanistan and Pakistan.
The movement of goods between the two countries had resumed Monday after successful negotiations between Pakistani border authorities and Afghan traders, Online news agency reported.
Around 1,000 trucks and trailers loaded with food entered in Pakistan from Afghanistan while containers carrying NATO supplies also entered Afghanistan from Pakistan, Online said quoting sources.
On Sunday night, at least 25 oil tankers caught fire in Chaman after a blast
and firing at a vehicle carrying supplies for NATO forces in Afghanistan.
DPA adds: Suspected Islamist insurgents attacked the vehicles, mostly loaded with armoured vehicles for the Western troops, Sunday evening shortly after the Muslim truckers broke their Ramadan fast, police officer Abdul Basheer said.
