Washington, Aug 20 - A Florida man who sent an e-mail to the US Army Recruiting Command in November to kill president-elect Barack Obama pleaded guilty to threat charges in a court in Tampa Wednesday.

He faces up to five years behind bars in federal jail.

Twenty-one-year-old Nathan Wine admitted sending the threatening e-mail to the US Army Recruiting Command just a day after Obama's election Nov 4.

Prosecutors told the court that Wine admitted to Secret Service agents that he had sent the letter and his planned to assassinate Obama.

They said Wine sent a poorly spelled letter to the army centre, stating: 'I will not rest until this tyrant of america IS GUNNED DOWN.
