Recent surveys shown that majority of the Pakistanis have concerns about America but the fact is the US intends to have long-term ties with Pakistan, she said.

She said more personnel will be deputed at the expanded US embassy in Islamabad to carry out various assistance programmes in the country.

She lauded the role of the Pakistani media in creating awareness among the people on various critical issues. There are a number of investment opportunities in Pakistan for the US entrepreneurs, McHale said.

The US under secretary said the US government is working on a number of initiatives in the Congress to build a robust economic base in Pakistan.
