Johannesburg, Aug 12 - South African paceman Dale Steyn, facing a doping charge, is expected to get off leniently after a sample showed that he had slightly exceeded the permissible limit, team doctor Mohammad Moosajee said Wednesday.
Steyn, currently playing for the Indian Premiere League (IPL) team Bangalore Royal Challengers, was under the scanner after he took painkiller during the recent Twenty20 tournament here.
'Dale apparently took too much Myprodol (a painkiller) after he suffered from migraine during the past few months and also broke his left thumb during the IPL,' Moosajee told the Afrikaans daily Beeld her.
He said that the permissible limit of mophine was one microgram per litre while Steyn's sample exceed it by just 0.
