Guadalajara (Mexico), Aug 11 (Xinhua) US President Barack Obama has said the expulsion of Honduran president from office was illegal.
Obama made the remarks at a press conference after the two-day Fifth North American Leaders' Summit that ended here in western Mexico Monday.
Mexican President Felipe Calderon said his country would continue to push for restoration of the democratically elected Honduras President Manuel Zelaya.
Zelaya earlier said the US pressure on the post-coup government has been 'lukewarm'.
'It is not about Zelaya per se. It is about defending the rights of Honduras' people,' Calderon said at the conference.
