Moscow, July 12 (RIA Novosti) Thirteen militants have been killed in special operations in Russia's North Caucasus region between Saturday night and Sunday morning, authorities said.
Eight militants have been killed in different places in restive Chechen republic, while five were gunned down in neighbouring republic of Daghestan, the interior ministries of the republics said.
Three suspected militants were killed Saturday night in the Chechen capital Gronzy in a shootout with the police who received gun shots while trying to stop a speeding car the militants were travelling in.
'In the return fire, three members of the armed group were killed,' the ministry said in a statement.
Two similar incident occurred Sunday morning in two diffrent places in the city, resulting in the death of five more militants.
