Muraleedharan reacting to Congress' decision said: 'I will patiently wait. I am prepared to wait for any length of time for a change in the attitude of the party.'

A miffed Karunakaran said: 'If needed I will approach the national leadership of the party and at the moment I am not going to say anything more. I will do the needful about this.'

Karunakaran took part only in the morning session of the day-long meeting. The issue of Muraleedharan's re-entry was discussed in the afternoon session of the state committee when Karunakaran was not present.
