Karachi, Aug 7 - Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Ijaz Butt will try to convince board members Thursday about his efforts to gain maximum financial benefits from the International Cricket Council (ICC) for giving up its court case on the shifting of 2011 World Cup.
The PCB governing board will meet here Aug 13.
A PCB spokesman said Friday that Butt will give details of his plans vis-a-vis the court case against the ICC which was initiated earlier this year after the game's governing body moved Pakistan's share of 14 World Cup games out of the country because of security apprehensions.
Butt has agreed to settle the matter out of court but needs the backing of the governing board before sealing a deal with the ICC some times later this month.
According to sources in the PCB, Pakistan is hoping to receive Rs.2 billion as its share from the World Cup profits. Butt will inform the members of the governing board that the amount is much bigger than what Pakistan would have received in case it actually hosted the 14 matches given to it initially as a co-host of the tournament.
