Delhi Food Minister Haroon Yusuf said his department has done all the arrangements properly so that interests of consumers could be safeguarded properly.
'Due to various reasons like less production of pulses in the country, continuation of drought-like situation in some parts of northern India, there has been substantial increase in the prices of pulses all over India and so also in Delhi,' he said.
'Since the first week of July, there has been a substantial difference between prices of pulses in wholesale and retail,' he added.
Yusuf said to ensure that prices of these pulses do not increase further in the wholesale and retail markets, the Delhi Dal and Besan Mills Association and Delhi Grain Merchant Association have joined hands with the government.
