Meanwhile, extensive renovation work has been started at the Lucknow Raj Bhawan. According to reports, the exquisite carpets which adorn the lavishly designed Governor's House, were being removed to provide Joshi and his wife a dust-free environment.

'The new governor is highly allergic to dust, therefore initially, he will be put up in a bungalow at Gautampalli, a colony for senior bureaucrats, from where he will move to the Raj Bhawan after the renovation is completed,' a senior official told IANS.
