Lucknow, Sep 13 - As many as 11 more people died after drinking spurious liquor in Saharanpur district Saturday and Sunday, taking the death toll from hooch to 29 in Uttar Pradesh, police said.

While two people died Tuesday and 10 Wednesday, six others died on Thursday and Friday. Eleven people died late Saturday and early Sunday.

'Most of them bought the liquor from Khasauli locality of Deoband. Four wine shops have been sealed in this area. Samples have also been picked up from all the outlets and have been sent for tests,' Senior Superintendent of Police Amit Chandra told IANS.

He said over two dozen people were ill and undergoing treatment in different hospitals.
