Ghaziabad Sep 8 - In a daylight robbery an armed man snatched a bag containing Rs.5 lakh from a trader here Tuesday, police said.

Mohan Lal, a grain trader was on his way on a scooter from his Yamuna Vihar residence in Delhi to his office in Jawahar Nagar in Loni area of Ghaziabad and was carrying Rs.5 lakhs cash in a bag, police said.

'Since the Delhi-Saharanpur road was under repair, Lal was driving his scooter very slowly. When Lal reached near the Gulab Vatika area a man came to the side of his scooter, snatched the bag and began to flee,' a police officer said.

'Lal attempted to follow him, but the robber fired in the air. His accomplice was waiting on a motorcycle nearby and they fled on the bike,' the police officer said.
