Bhubaneswar, Sep 5 - Maoist guerrillas blew up a mobile phone tower in Malkangiri district of Orissa, police said Saturday.

A large number of armed rebels came to MV-74 village in Malkanagiri and blew up the mobile tower late Friday.

'Some heavily armed Maoists came and blew up a mobile tower. They have also left some posters,' a senior police officer said.

Later the rebels chopped trees and blocked vehicular traffic in Chitrakonda and Balimela areas.

Meanwhile, police Saturday arrested four Maoist guerrillas during a joint combing operation in Rukha village of Sundergarh district. Two landmines and a bike have been recovered.

'It was a joint operation of Central Reserve Police Force and Special Operations Group. We have arrested four people and recovered two landmines, containers, and wire used in landmines,' another police officer said.
