Kolkata, Sep 1 - The prime accused in the theft of Brazilian Marmoset monkeys from a Kolkata zoo has been arrested again from Chhattisgarh after he gave police guards the slip while being brought to the West Bengal capital by train, police said here Tuesday.
Rajesh Saikia, the prime accused in Brazilian monkey theft case, was arrested late Monday night from Durg district, Kolkata Police Joint Commissioner (headquarters) Jawed Shamim told IANS.
He would again be brought to Kolkata, police sources said.
Saikia, arrested Saturday from Chhattisgarh from where the monkeys were also recovered, was found missing around 4.45 a.m. Monday when the train - Howrah-bound Ahmedabad Express - stopped at Jharsuguda station.
