New York, Aug 31 - India's Mahesh Bhupathi with his Bahamian partner Mark Knowles have been seeded third while compatriot Leander Paes and Czech Lukas Dlouhy have got the fourth billing in the men's doubles of the US Open tennis.
Bhupathi and Knowles have got some good performances under their belt before coming to the Flushing Meadows, winning the title at Montreal and then making the semi-final of Cincinnati Masters. They will open against Amercian James Cerretani and Croat Lovro Zovko.
Paes and Dlouhy, on the other hand, will play Romanians Victor Hanescu and Gabriel Trifu in the first round.
In the women's doubles, Sania Mirza with Italian Francesca Schiavone is seeded 14th and they will play Ekaterina Dzehalevich of Belarus and Czech Renata Voracova in the first round.
