Lahore, Aug 31 - Intelligence agencies have warned that 17 terrorists from Pakistan's tribal areas have entered Lahore to possibly target sensitive installations, mosques, Iftar parties and political personalities.

The warning is contained in a report to the interior ministry, Online news agency reported.

Lahore police chief Pervez Rathore told reporters that security has been enhanced in the city, with additional forces deployed outside recreational sites, mosques, the Imambargah and sensitive installations.

Several people have lost their lives as Lahore has been targeted by terrorists seven times in the past few months.

On March 3, six Sri Lankan cricketers were wounded when gunmen attacked the team travelling to the Gaddafi Stadium for a Test match with Sri Lankan. Six policemen and two civilians died in the assault, which prompted the Sri Lankan government to immediately fly the team home.
