New Delhi, Aug 31 - Six armed men barged into the house of a Delhi Police traffic inspector in the capital and looted cash and jewellery worth nearly Rs.2.75 lakh (Rs.275,000) at gunpoint, police said Monday.
The six men, wearing masks, entered the east Delhi house of Sanjeev Kumar around 9:30 p.m. Sunday and took away jewellery worth Rs 2.5 lakh (Rs.250,000) and Rs.25,000 in cash, a police officer said.
'The robbers barged into Kumar's Ashok Vihar residence and asked the female members at gunpoint to give the jewellery they were wearing and hand over all the cash in the house,' the officer said.
According to police, Kumar was not at home but reached while the robbers were there and was also threatened to keep quiet.
'We have registered a complaint and are investigating the matter,' the officer added.
