London, July 16 - Screen legend Elizabeth Taylor denies reports that grief over her friend Michael Jackson's death was the reason for her hospitalisation.

Contactmusic.com reports that the 77-year-old has been having health problems for the past 10 years and had to be rushed to the hospital Monday. When she was hospitalised, it was reported that she is being treated for exhaustion caused by the death of Jackson who died June 25.

But her representative clarified saying she was taken to the hospital for a 'minor, though painful, surgical procedure'.

'She is in for standard tests and a minor, though painful, surgical procedure. That's it. No drama, no shrieking, no sedation required. Nobody on her staff is worried. Period,' said the spokesperson on a TV show.
