Suva, Aug 10 (Xinhua) Fiji Monday said it will not participate in the coming regional trade talks, protesting against the Pacific Island Forum's (PIF) decision to uphold its suspension from the body.

'We will pull out from the talks,' Fijian Prime Minister Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama was quoted as saying by Fijilive news website.

Bainimarama was responding to comments by New Zealand Foreign Minister Murray McCully that he was waiting to see what Fiji would decide in relation to the talks on Pacific Agreement on Closer Economic Relations (PACER)-Plus and the Pacific Island Countries Trade Agreement (PICTA).

On July 23, Fiji was suspended from the Pacific Island Forum for failing to hold democratic elections by that date.
