New Delhi, Aug 10 - India saw a slight improvement in its foreign tourist arrivals in the month of July, according to the tourism ministry.
According to the ministry, about 432,000 tourists visited India, as compared to 429,000 during the month of July 2008. In the same month in 2007, the figure was 400,000, a statement issued here said.
The tourists arrivals in July was also higher compared to the month of June.
'There has been an improvement in the growth rate of Foreign Tourists Arrivals (FTAs) in July 2009 (0.6 percent) as compared to June 2009 (0.2 percent),' said the statement.
'Positive growth in the monthly FTAs, though nominal, has been witnessed for the second time in July during the year 2009,' it said.
