London, Aug 8 - Colombian pop star Shakira, who is engaged to entrepreneur Antonio de la Rua, points out that sex is the origin of life and believes it is the ultimate human expression.

'Freedom is more than a state of mind, it relates to many different parts of our lives -- not only sexual pleasure. But sex is the origin of life and is the ultimate human expression,' femalefirst.co.uk quoted Shakira as saying.

'Women have this primary, basic, animalistic urge. It goes beyond sex,' she added.

The 32-year-old star has been dating Antonio for nine years now.
