London, July 31 - Former captain Patrick Viera is likely to make a comeback at Arsenal.

Vieira is set for talks with Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger about the intriguing possibility of the 33-year-old Frenchman's return to the north London club.

The Daily Telegraph reported that no deal has yet been agreed, but Wenger is open-minded about the idea of offering Vieira a performance-related one-year contract to add some experience in the squad.

Vieira has been an important figure at Inter Milan under Jose Morinho and still has one year left on his 85,000 pounds per-week deal with the Italian champions.

Vieira return to Arsenal was revealed by his former team mate, Ian Wright, on a radio talk show.

'I'm hearing Vieira, pay-as-you-play, back at Arsenal. That's what I'm hearing, and that's what I'm hoping,' Wright said.

Vieira was rated fifth by Arsenal supporters on their all-time list of greatest players and was with Wenger for his three Premier League titles and four FA Cup wins.
