New Delhi, July 27 - Uttar Pradesh Congress chief Rita Bahuguna Joshi will meet Prime Minister Manmohan Singh later Monday to clarify her position on her derogatory remarks against state's Chief Minister Mayawati.

'I am meeting prime minister to clarify my position on that issue,' Joshi told IANS.

Asked if she has met Congress president Sonia Gandhi as well, Joshi said: 'I have met her thrice, but it was regarding organisational matters.'

Joshi was arrested July 15 and charged under the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act on charges of making derogatory remarks against Mayawati that offended the chief minister as a Dalit and a woman.

Joshi was granted bail by a Moradabad court July 18.
