New Delhi, July 24 - Senior officials of the US carrier Continental Airlines were summoned by the government Friday in connection with the frisking of former president A.P.J. Abdul Kalam at Delhi airport.
The officials met Civil Aviation Secretary M. Madhavan Nambiar and apologised again for frisking Kalam at the Indira Gandhi International Airport when he was going on a visit to the US this April, a ministry spokesperson said.
'The airline has once again apologised for its act,' the spokesperson told IANS.
The government had earlier issued a show cause notice under section 11A of the Aircraft Act for 'wilful violation of the law' against Continental Airlines.
