Hong Kong, July 20 (DPA) A book about a panda that went missing during last year's Sichuan earthquake in China and the Hong Kong woman who adopted the animal is to help finance a panda nature reserve, a media report said Monday.

The book, 'In Love with Pandas - The Story of Qing Qing & I', tells of the bond between Judy Chen Qing and the giant panda, Qing Qing, she adopted at Sichuan's Wolong nature reserve in 2007, the Standard newspaper said.

Chen, who is chairwoman of the Ocean Park Conservation Foundation Hong Kong, said: 'I will never forget the moment I first saw her -- a little creature sitting on a baby chair, looking at us curiously, weighing just 12 pounds (5.44 kg) 100 days after birth. We simply knew that we belonged to each other, it was like love at first sight.'

The book records Chen's concerns after the panda disappeared after the Sichuan earthquake in south-west China on May 12, 2008. The animal was later found injured and frightened. 'I love her as I would my own child,' Chen said.

All royalties from Chen's book will go to a fund which was set up by the Ocean Park Conservation Foundation to raise money to help rebuild panda facilities in Sichuan.
