London, Aug 24 - Hollywood funnyman Robin Williams has been asked to play Scottish singing sensation Susan Boyle in a movie about her life.

Boyle shot to international fame after appearing on British TV programme 'Britain's Got Talent' earlier this year. She counts the likes of Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore among her fans and movie executives are now planning a film detailing her rise to stardom, reports imdb.com.

In an unlikely approach, the producers want Williams, who previously dressed as a woman in 1993s 'Mrs. Doubtfire', to play the starring role and the actor, who himself is an avid Boyle fan, has already been practising his impressions of her by singing her audition song 'I dreamed a dream' to his celebrity friends.

'I've been asked if I want to play Susan in the movie. I think she's incredible. That clip of her singing on 'Britain's Got Talent' was extraordinary. So inspiring. It was quite a shock when she began to sing. I saw some other clip of her singing 'Cry me a river' a few years ago. It was incredible. She's got a really great voice,' said Williams.
